You've been prescribed one of the latest medications for weight loss, Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. This GLP-1 drug mimics a natural hormone in your body that promotes the feeling of fullness after eating. The goal is to help you feel satisfied with minimal food intake, aiding in calorie reduction and subsequent weight loss.
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. While nausea is expected, vomiting and diarrhea typically occur when the dose is too high for your body. If nausea becomes unbearable, contact us, and we can provide a prescription for anti-nausea medication. Dose adjustments will be made gradually to find your optimal level, where you feel full with minimal eating. Although we recommend to remain at the same dose for at least 4 weeks, you may request a dose increase after two weeks already, if no side effects or positive effects are experienced.
Taking a break: If you pause your medication for over 4 weeks, you'll be restarted at a lower dose for your safety. This adjustment helps avoid serious side effects by allowing your body to reacclimate to the medication.

Your Diet
Your diet is crucial for success in the weight loss program. You should have received a customized diet plan outlining your daily calorie intake and recommended macronutrient ranges. If you haven't received it, please text us at 661-336-2555.
Allocate 50% of your daily calories (e.g. 500 calories) for dinner to allow participation in social and family activities. Distribute the remaining calories (e.g. 500 calories) among breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Consistency in meal timing and content fosters healthy eating habits.
